26.10.2011 - Samsung Diamond League: the 2012 calendar revealed!

Mark your calendars, the 2012 dates of the Samsung Diamond League  have been revealed. The season will start on the 11th of May in Doha and the MEETING AREVA will be staged in the Stade de France on the 6th of July.

No doubt that only 3 weeks before the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics, the Parisian event will stand as a big rehearsal. more

Despite some rather alarmist weather forecasts, it was an overcast sky but not a drop of rain that greeted the 2011 edition of the Meeting Areva, the eighth stage of the Samsung Diamond League, in Paris’ Stade de France.

Organised a week earlier than last year, this athletics evening drew the maximum number of spectators in a stadium that can accommodate up to 75,000 seats in athletics configuration, a fact that makes it the largest arena of the 14 which host the Samsung Diamond League meetings. more

Some races where I was focused on getting back rhythm and tempo. Now, it’s time to lower my performance. I run 13:16 in Reims against a strong wind. So, I’m in a good shape. My goal is to be back at the level I had in 2007. more

« It’s gonna be my first race since the US trials at the end of june in Eugene.

But I needed a break. At the trials, I had three runs in just more than 24 hours. I had to rest. So, I stayed in Orlando, I relaxed with my family and I trained. But I’m in a good shape. I expect a lot from Friday’s race against Dayron Robles. We met only once since September 2008. more

« I’m greateful and satisfied of my performance on 100 m this season.

I’ve run a PB in Ostrava, 10.76. It proves that I can still improve on my speed. But I don’t forget the 200 m. Actually, I put as much emphasize on 100 than on 200 m. I will double in Daegu, because I succeed at the trials. And I hope to do well on both distances at the Worlds, if it’s my destiny. more
