The Frenchman secured third place in 10''08, behind the American duo Tyson Gay (9''99) – Justin Gatlin (10''03). Christophe Lemaitre, disappointed with his time, had his heart set on running sub-10 seconds for the first time this season (his season’s best in 2012 stands at 10''04), but there was nothing he could do against the Americans, despite a good end to the race. Gay, totally recovered from his hip operation, secured a fine revenge over Gatlin, who beat him last week during the American trials.
