« The race on Friday night, the 5000 m, is very important for me for two reasons. First, I love the MEETING AREVA, I’ve come a lot in the past, Paris is a special place for me to visit and I still have great memories from the 2003 Worlds championships at the Stade de France. Second, this race tomorrow night will decide which athletes will be selected for Ethiopia at the Olympics. I need to be one of the first three from Ethiopia at the end, and in the same time I need a good time. I have to run under 13 minutes. I can do that. I’m feeling confident. I would have needed more time this season to train, after a whole year with no training and races because of an injury. But things are doing better. I’m improving. These last six weeks, I could train on the new track I’ve paid for in Addis-Abeba.”
